One of the best today visualizations of the scenario of actions in the Western
theater of military operations, made according to the recollections of the
former chief of the operations department of the headquarters of the 5th
military district of the NVA of the GDR, Colonel Siegfried Lautsch.
It is not exhaustive, since the German allies were not privy to the real operational planning of Soviet troops, and could judge their tasks and the nature of possible actions only from the experience of the command and control staff and staff conferences.
